All eyes are on the upcoming game between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings, scheduled to be played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday (May 18).
The game is of huge importance for both the teams as well as other teams who are still in contention for a playoff spot in the ongoing IPL 2024. And ahead of the game, weather has become the major talking point as the forecast is not promising at all.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that Bengaluru is expected to see “spells of rains or thundershowers” this week. The weather department has predicted a “partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers” for Bengaluru from May 14 to May 17.
For May 18 and 19, the IMD has forecasted a “partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain or thunderstorm”. There is a 75% chance of rain in Bengaluru from 8 pm to 11 pm on the day the RCB vs CSK game is scheduled to be played.
While only time will tell how things unfold on the match day, the current weather in Bengaluru is very promising. There was bright sunshine in the city on Thursday (May 16), two days before the game. Both the teams will be hoping that the weather remains the same on the match day as well.

What if RCB vs CSK is washed out:
In case, the game between RCB and CSK is washed out, the former will be knocked out of IPL 2024 while the latter will qualify. At present, CSK are third in the points table with 14 points while RCB are sixth with 12 points. In case of a washout, CSK will finish with 15 points while RCB will finish with 13.
Since five teams already have at least 14 points, RCB will be knocked out if the game is washed out. On the other hand, CSK will be through with 15 points.
