In a bizarre moment, Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi became the victim of an unfortunate run-out in their do-or-die group match against Australia in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on Friday, February 28, at the Gaddafi Cricket Stadium in Lahore.
Australian pacer Spencer Johnson bowled a short delivery down the leg side, which the wicketkeeper Josh Inglis failed to collect cleanly, deflecting the ball to his left. This prompted Azmatullah Omarzai and Mohammad Nabi to take a quick bye, but the all-rounder was sent back midway.

And that’s where the Australian players showed great presence of mind, as Josh Inglis quickly threw the ball towards the stumps, and Spencer Johnson reacted sharply, collecting it and knocking down the bails. Nabi was caught short of his crease, gifting Australia an easy wicket.
