“Virat Kohli should retire now”- Twitter rips apart the former Indian captain

Virat Kohli’s poor form continues, as he left the Indian cricket team and fans frustrated with his hopeless outing in the ongoing opening Test of the three-match Test series against New Zealand at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

New Zealand couldn’t have asked for a better start, as Team India’s batting legends Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are dismissed within the first 10 overs of the first innings at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Thursday, October 17.

Virat Kohli’s struggles continue as New Zealand strikes early in Bengaluru Test

The crowd went silent mode as Virat Kohli departed for a duck after facing nine balls at his home venue of the IPL team, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Bengaluru. New Zealand pacer William O’Rourke delivered a ball just short of a length on the off-stump, getting extra bounce due to his height.

The ball nipped back in, and Kohli, attempting a defensive shot, got it off the top of his glove. The ball flew towards the leg gully, where Glenn Phillips dived forward to take a superb catch just before it hit the ground, and Kohli returned to the dugout with another poor score, leaving the Indian cricket team in danger.

New Zealand is capitalizing on the favorable conditions, putting India on the back foot in Bengaluru. Notably, Kohli has come to bat No. 3 position in Test cricket after eight years

Here’s how fans reacted to Virat Kohli’s another poor show in Tests:

Kohli’s most recent duck in Test cricket came during New Zealand’s previous Test tour of India at the Wankhede Stadium, 32 innings ago.
