U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 groups announced by ICC

The International Cricket Council has finalized Groups for U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025. This comes after Nepal bagged the final spot via the 2024 Asia Qualifier in UAE as they defeated the hosts inside 15 overs to book the ticket for the main event.

Based on the net rate, Nepal secured their first U19 Women’s T20 WC entry. They have now been placed in Group D of the tournament and will be taking on Australia, Bangladesh and Scotland. With the kind of performances they displayed in Qualifiers, they would be keen to perform on the big stage.

West Indies, Sri Lanka and defending champions India along with hosts Malaysia are placed in Group A of U19 Women’s T20 World Cup

Group A of the Women’s T20 World Cup will see West Indies, Sri Lanka and defending champions India along with hosts Malaysia, who will be making their debut in the tournament. They will be confident heading into the event, which will be taking place at Bayuemas Oval.

The first Group A fixture will see Sri Lanka taking on Malaysia on the second day of the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup. On the same day, India Women’s National Cricket Team will be locking horns with West Indies Women’s National Cricket Team in the afternoon fixture.

Group B looks toughest on paper with England, Pakistan, Ireland, and the USA. The Three Lions no doubt will be favorites, but they will be having strong competition. Pakistan, too, will be posing a strong challenge, and they will look like strong candidates for the next stage.

The likes of Amy Hunter, Freya Sargent, Aimee Maguire, and Alice Tector, who will be part of the Ireland squad, had a decent outing during a tour of South Africa across October and November, while the USA boasted two victories against the West Indies on a tour back in July.
