South Africa takes on Sri Lanka in the T20 World Cup 2024 match 4 in New York on Monday, June 3. The match starts at 8 pm IST which is 9.30 am local time.
South Africa are led by Aiden Markram in the T20 World Cup and have a good head-to-head record against Sri Lanka. They have won 12 out of the 17 T20Is played against the Lankans In T20 World Cups, they have won three.
South Africa have named their T20 World Cup squad. They have several players in form after their recent stint in IPL 2024. The return of Anrich Nortje was a major development in the T20 World Cup squad. Alongside him, there are Rabada, Keshav Maharaj, Tabraiz Shamsi, and Gerald Coetzee as premier pacers.

Quinton de Kock (WK)
De Kock will open the batting for South Africa. He did not have the best of IPL seasons and struggled in the T20I series as well. He is playing just one format and would love to win the World Cup before he retires.
Reeza Hendricks
Hendricks will open the batting with De Kock. He led the side in the absence of the regular players against West Indies and batted well. He will have a key role to play with the bat.
Aiden Markram (C)
Markram, the skipper will bat at three. He did not play too many matches for SRH in the IPL. After a break, he should return fresh. He replaces Temba Bavuma as the skipper of the T20I side.
Tristan Stubbs
Stubbs cab bat at four. He flourished at that position batting for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024 scoring 378 runs at a strike rate of 190. South Africa can look to give him a longer run starting with the World Cup.
David Miller
Miller will slot in at five. He is amongst the best middle-order batters in T20I cricket and relishes batting at that number. The southpaw is a proven performer and will back himself to perform for the national side.
Heinrich Klaasen
Klaasesn will slot in at six. He scored nearly 500 runs in the IPL this season at a strike rate of 170 hitting 38 sixes. His role will be taking on the spinners in the middle overs.
Marco Jansen
Jansen can slot in at seven. He is a good all-rounder with plenty of potential with bat and ball. His ability to swing the new ball makes him a good bowling option too.
Gerald Coetzee
Coetzee can bat at eight. He has a reputation for being a big hitter lower down the order and can bowl consistently at 140. His pace can unsettle the Lankan batters.
Keshav Maharaj
Marahraj can bat at nine and will be one of the two premier spinners. He recently played in the IPL. The left-arm spinner is a seasoned campaigner and will be crucial in the middle-overs.
Kagiso Rabada
Rabada will lead the pace attack for South Africa. He and Anrich Nortje are the two fastest bowlers in this competition. He did not have a good IPL season ending with just 11 wickets this season.
Tabraiz Shamsi
The leggie concludes the likely playing XI for South Africa. He and Maharaj bowls well in tandem and hence he is a key part of the bowling attack.
