SL vs SA: ‘Can sense India being 40-4’

Fans on Twitter reacted after the Sri Lanka cricket team struggled to get going with the bat due to the pitch at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. The match between the Island nation and South Africa is underway at the newly built stadium on Monday (3rd June).

The Sri Lanka cricket team won the toss and opted to bat first. It seemed that it would be a high-scoring game at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium. But things have looked completely different from what it seemed as batting has been extremely difficult on the pitch.

The pitch at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium has posed a different threat to the batters and is looking like a nightmare for the batters. The surface has offered help for both fast and slow bowlers and apart from that there has been uneven bounce as well.

To worsen the case more, the outfield at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York has been extremely slow which has made run-scoring hard for the batters. Sri Lanka batters looked clueless against the South African bowlers, who have been breathing fire.

Anrich Nortje seemed unplayable as he picked up 4 wickets in 4 overs that he bowled and gave away only 7 runs. This was the best figure for a South African pacer in the history of the T20 World Cups. Along with him, others too have chipped in.

Kagiso Rabada and Keshav Maharaj have bagged two scalps each while Ottneil Baartman picked one wicket. Thanks to help from the surface and fiery bowling, South Africa bundled out Sri Lanka for just 77 runs at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

For Sri Lanka, Kusal Mendis was the top run-scorer with his innings of 19 runs. Angelo Mathews scored 16 runs whereas the rest of the batters struggled to get going.
