Mizdirection – had five starts in 2012 for trainer Mike Puype with four wins and a second place finish culminating in a win in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint over Unbridled’s Note. The only blemish of 2012 was a second in the minor Great Lady M Stakes back in May. Before that were three straight wins including last year’s Grade 3 Monrovia January 2 and a pair of minor stakes races. In his two starts of 2013 he has looked typically great – a convincing win in the Grade 2 Monrovia Stakes January 6 and another score last time out in the Grade 2 Buena Vista Stakes by 2 1/4 lengths February 18. He has been worse than second just twice in a 14-race career that includes nine wins and is unquestionably the horse to beat Saturday.

Purim’s Dancer – Thomas Proctor trained filly makes her graded stakes debut after four wins in her last five starts – the restricted Wishing Well Stakes at Santa Anita by 3 1/4 lengths February 10, an Allowance Optional Claiming January 18, a Starter Claiming in October and a MSW in September. Her only two career blemishes came in her debut and in December – an Allowance at Hollywood Park.

Schiaparelli – has six career starts with three wins and two second place finishes for trainer Mike Puype. Last time out was an Allowance Optional Claiming score by 3 1/2 lengths March 14 at on this track after a fourth in the minor Wishing Well Stakes February 10 and a third in an Allowance Optional Claiming December 30.

Dancingtothestars – Doug O’Neill pupil has placed in her last five starts including two wins at the end of 2012. In 2013 she has three minor stakes starts – a third last time out in the Irish O’Brien Stakes and a pair of seconds – in the Wishing Well Stakes February 10 and the Valentine Dancer Stakes January 26 – all three results coming at Santa Anita.

Givine – French bred filly had a good third January 6 in the Grade 2 Monrovia Stakes at Santa Anita – her best result in quite some time but was a distant ninth last time out in the minor Wishing Well Stakes February 10.
