Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have made a massive change to their coaching staff ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. As per the reports in Indian Express, it is learned that the franchise has appointed Mumbai’s senior men’s team coach, Omkar Salvi, as the fast bowling coach.
Omkar Salvi is one of the best coaches in the Indian domestic circuit. He has enjoyed a massive success with the Mumbai state team. His experience, no doubt, will be a massive boost for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who are yet to win the title in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Omkar Salvi earlier served as the assistant coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), which was his only stint in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has been associated with the Mumbai domestic team and his contract will be ending in March 2025 as the head coach.
A source close to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) confirmed the development, saying: “He has been appointed as bowling coach for RCB for the forthcoming season, he has expertise and has worked with other franchises too,”
The reports also claimed that Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be making the official appointment soon. Under his tenure, the Mumbai team won the Ranji Trophy last season and also the Irani Trophy as well.
RCB’s new bowling coach has played only one List A game for Railways against Madhya Pradesh in 2005 but has been right on the money with coaching. He would be hoping to make an immediate mark for the franchise and help the team win their first-ever title in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
