Pakistan Cricket Board: PCB files complaint with ICC regarding Ahmedabad crowd behaviour | Cricket News

MUMBAI: The Pakistan Cricket Board has filed a complaint with the International Cricket Council regarding alleged boorish crowd behaviour directed at Pakistan’s players during their big-ticket match against India in their 2023 ODI World Cup match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14. Pakistan lost the match by seven wickets with 117 balls to spare.
There were allegations of Pakistan captain Babar Azam being booed at the toss and a section of the crowd chanting: “Jai Shri Ram,” as Pakistan ‘keeper-bat Mohammad Rizwan walked back to the pavilion after being dismissed.

The PCB has also lodged another formal protest with the ICC over delay in the visas of the Pakistani journalists and the “absence of a visa policy” for the fans for the mega tournament-there are no Pakistan fans at the tournament as they haven’t been granted visas so far.

“The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has lodged another formal protest with ICC over delays in visas for Pakistani journalists and absence of a visa policy for Pakistan fans for the ongoing World Cup 2023.
The PCB has also filed a complaint in respect of Inappropriate Conduct targeted at the Pakistan Squad during the India vs Pakistan Match held on 14th October 2023,” the PCB spokesperson said in a statement to the media.
The match was witnessed by PCB’s cricket management committee chairman Zaka Ashraf.
