NYRA: Wet Forecast Postpones Glen Cove, Knickerbocker

Due to inclement weather forecast this weekend, the New York Racing Association has postponed two turf stakes races initially scheduled for Oct. 15 at Belmont at the Big A, according to a social media post from Keith McCalmont of NYRA publicity.

The $125,000 Glen Cove Stakes moves to Thursday, Oct. 19, and the $150,000 Knickerbocker Stakes (G3T) will be run on Friday, Oct. 20. The draw for the Glen Gove will take place Oct. 14 and the Knickerbocker on Sunday, McCalmont noted.

Both races are open to original nominees and supplements.

An Oct. 12 forecast from the National Weather Service calls for over an inch of rain in the New York City area this weekend, with most precipitation expected from mid-afternoon Saturday through Sunday morning.

Racing remains scheduled for Sunday, beginning with a first post at 12:35 p.m. ET.
