Australia fast bowler Mitchell Starc heaped praises on India’s star cricketer KL Rahul, with whom he is going to share the dressing room in the upcoming season of Indian Premier League (IPL) while playing for Delhi Capitals.
Mitchell Starc is also in awe of the cricketing talent in India and feels that it is the only country in the world that can put up a competitive Playing XI for all three formats at the same time.

Mitchell Starc praises the versatility of KL Rahul
During a podcast on the FanaticsTV YouTube channel, Mitchell Starc hailed KL Rahul for his versatility as a cricketer. Starc named Rahul as India’s “Mr. Fixit” and claims that he has done everything that he has been asked to do over the course of his career.
“KL Rahul is like Mr. Fixit for India – He has opened the batting when asked to, batted at Number 6, Kept, fielded, batted in middle order — he has done just about everything, he has played vital roles, excited to play alongside him,” Starc said on the channel.

KL Rahul started his international career as the opener but soon moved to the middle order in ODIs as India already had successful batters at the top. He proved to be impressive in the middle order, thus making the position his own.
The right-hander then took the gloves as India struggled for a potent wicketkeeping option in ODIs in the absence of Rishabh Pant, who got injured in a brutal car accident in December 2022. Rahul made the position his own with some consistent performances with the bat and the gloves.

Mitchell Starc further lauded the immense cricketing talent in India and claimed that it is the only team that can play three different teams on a single day in all the formats and also be competitive.
“I think India is the only nation that could have Test team, One-Day team & T20I team play on the same day — Australia in Test, England in ODI & South Africa in T20I — and India will be competative, no other country can do it,” the left-arm fast bowler reckoned.

IPL 2025 prices of Mitchell Starc and KL Rahul
Starc and Rahul will be seen together playing for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025. Both the players were not a part of the franchise before but were signed in the mega auction held last year.
Starc was signed for INR 11.75 crore by Delhi Capitals while Rahul was purchased for INR 14 crore. Both are expected to play a key role for the Capitals this year and are likely to be a part of the team’s Playing XI for the first game.
Delhi Capitals will open their IPL 2025 campaign with a match against Lucknow Super Giants on March 24 at Visakhapatnam. They finished sixth in the points table last year and will be looking to improve their performance.
