AITA National Series – Juniors

Vishvajeet Sianas beat Harsh Malik 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 in the under-16 boys quarterfinals of the AITA National series junior tennis tournament at the Joygaon Academy on Thursday.

In the girls section, Manshi Singh got past Manvi Gupta with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 victory in the quarterfinals.

Under-16 boys (quarterfinals): Vishwajeet Sanas bt Harsh Malik 6-4, 5-7, 6-4; Prateek Sheoran bt Paramveer Ssingh 6-3, 7-6(3); Aaditya Sansanval bt Veer Madan 6-2, 7-5; Uttam Karthik bt Navya Yaddav 6-2, 6-2.

Doubles (semifinals): Aditya Acharya & Kanishk Khathuria bt Kanishk Dhingra & Shreyas Dogial 6-2, 7-6(7); Anuj Tashildar & Paramveer Singh bt Veer Madan & Harssh Malik 6-3, 0-6, [10-5].

Under-16 girls (quarterfinals): Vennela Reddy bt Sylvie Pal 6-1, 6-0; Havisha Choudhary bt Neelakshi Lather 6-1, 6-2; Anandita Uadhyay bt Swasti Singh 6-2, 6-4; Manshi Singh bt Manvi Gupta 3-6, 6-1, 6-2.

PICKLEBALL

Inagural edition of Ultimate Pickleball to be held in Mumbai

The inaugural edition of the Ultimate Pickleball Championship will be held in Mumbai from September 29 to October 1.

The event, organised by Pro World Talent Sports in partnership with the All India Pickleball Association, aims to foster international competition and enhance the profile of the sport in India.

The Ultimate Pickleball Championship has been designated as a Tier 3 world ranking tournament, will feature teams from China, Singapore and Nepal as well.

This ranking system will allow players to accumulate points that will contribute to their global rankings and standings. The tournament will be played in under-16, under-19, 35 plus, 50 plus, 60 plus, and an open category among men and women.

The game is played indoors as well as outdoors. It was invented in 1965 as a children’s backyard game in the United States.

Super Kings Academy to launch centre in Tiruppur 

The Super Kings Academy is set to launch its sixth centre in Tamil Nadu with a franchise-based facility at Yali Sports Private Limited, Tiruppur.

The Super Kings Academy Tiruppur will be a state-of-the-art facility with eight pitches (4 turf, 2 matting and 2 Astro Turf) and floodlights. Cricket coaching for boys and girls aged 6 to 23 will begin in December.

The academy will be located at 290/2, Punniyavathi Salai, Vijayapuram, Kangeyam road, Tiruppur.

Talking about the Super Kings Academy in Tiruppur, Chennai Super Kings Cricket Limited CEO K.S.
