India National Cricket Team have arrived in Sydney for the final Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The match between the two teams will be played from 3rd January (Friday) at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) and will be the series decider as well.
The India National Cricket Team arrived in Sydney on Tuesday (31st December) after the lengthy Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, which lasted an entire 5 days. While the entire team, including skipper Rohit Sharma, was seen travelling with the team, two seniors, Jasprit Bumrah and Virat Kohli, didn’t travel with the team.
It is expected that Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah will be joining the team soon. Both the players have brought along their families to Australia, and it can assumed that they would be travelling separately with them. The rest of the members of the team were seen together, having a chat and boarding the bus.
In the video that has gone viral on the internet, the visitors can be seen coming out of Sydney Airport and entering the team bus. The likes of KL Rahul, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harshit Rana, Akash Deep, and skipper Rohit Sharma were all seen in the clip as they arrived in Sydney.

India will be entering the SCG Test on the back of the disappointing loss in the last match
India National Cricket Team will be entering the SCG Test on the back of the disappointing loss in the last match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne. The Rohit Sharma-led side faced a massive 184-run loss in the Boxing-day game as they looked horrible with bat and ball.
The Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 between the teams is currently in favor of the Australia National Cricket Team by a margin of 2-1. Therefore, the last match stands extremely important for Rohit Sharma and his team as a lot would be at stake for them.
SCG Test – a must-win encounter for India
The match will be crucial not only in the context of the series but it will hold a great value in the context of the ICC World Test Championship final. If they lose the match, they will face a series loss against Australia for the first time since 2016, and it will also be curtains for them for the ICC World Test Championship.
They cannot afford to lose or draw the game. If they manage to win the game then there will be a slight chance for them to reach the final of the ICC World Test Championship. If this happens, they would want Sri Lanka to beat Australia by 1-0 in the two-match series.
The Sydney Test could also change a lot of things in Indian cricket as there are very high chances that it might be the last game for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in Tests. This was because the duo have struggled extremely to get going in the Tests in series, and if they bag another failure, things might get worse for them.
