Enduring Spirit First Winner for Tiz the Law

Classic winner Tiz the Law   saw his first winner as a sire May 16 when his son Enduring Spirit  posted a front-running score in a five-furlong maiden race for 2-year-olds at Churchill Downs.

Winner of the 2020 Belmont Stakes (G1), freshman sire Tiz the Law stands for $20,000 at Ashford Stud near Versailles, Ky.

R T Racing Stable’s Enduring Spirit opened a 1 1/2-length lead early in Thursday evening’s tilt and maintained a clear advantage throughout to post a one-length win. He completed the five furlongs in :57.98 on a fast track. Enduring Spirit was the lone starter in the field of six with previous racing experience as he finished seventh in a 4 1/2-furlong debut April 10 at Keeneland.

Bred in Kentucky by Carolyn Vogel, Enduring Spirit is out of the unraced Into Mischief   mare Life Starts, who has produced two winners from as many starters. R T Racing Stable purchased Enduring Spirit for $100,000 at last year’s Saratoga Sale, Fasig-Tipton’s auction of select yearlings. He was consigned by Northview Stallion Station, agent.

Of Tiz the Law’s 77 yearlings sold in 2023, they averaged $94,955.
