Will KL Rahul play Delhi Capitals’ 2nd match of IPL 2025 vs SRH? Crucial update launched

Delhi Capitals are set to receive a huge boost ahead of their second game in IPL 2025. The national capital-based outfit will be facing Sunrisers Hyderabad in Visakhapatnam on March 30, and KL Rahul is set to be available for the big clash.

The wicketkeeper-batsman had missed Delhi Capitals’ season-opener against Lucknow Super Giants earlier this week. KL Rahul could not play the game as he attended the birth of his first child. He had received special permission from the Delhi Capitals management to skip the match.

KL and Athiya blessed with a baby Girl

KL Rahul and his wife Athiya Shetty were blessed with a baby girl when the game between Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants was going on at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

He is now all set to return to action and make his debut for Delhi Capitals in their upcoming game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The India star plied his trade for the Lucknow-based outfit in the last three seasons of the IPL and will now be starting a new journey.

Delhi Capitals beat KL Rahul’s former team:

KL Rahul is no more a part of India’s T20I squad and recently said that he has still not given up on representing the team in the shortest format of the game. He has done well in ODIs in recent times and will now be eyeing a productive season with the bat in the IPL to increase his chances of earning a recall for India’s T20I side.

In Rahul’s absence, Delhi Capitals registered a thrilling win over his former team, Lucknow Super Giants. Batting first, the Super Giants posted a big total of 209/8 in the allotted 20 overs thanks to half-centuries from Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran.

Ashutosh Sharma set up Delhi’s win vs LSG

In reply, Delhi Capitals were off to a disastrous start and were reeling at 65/5 in the seventh over. With the likes of Jake Fraser-McGurk, Faf du Plessis, and Axar Patel back in the hut, it looked all over for the Delhi-based franchise.

However, Ashutosh Sharma played an absolute blinder to pull off a miraculous win for Delhi Capitals. He took the team over the finishing line with three balls remaining. Sharma remained unbeaten on 66 off 31 balls.
