Former Australian pacer, Glenn McGrath shocked the internet as he was seen on camera attempting to catch a snake which entered his home.

Glenn McGrath has sent the internet into a frenzy after displaying his snake-catching skills in a video on Instagram. From terrorising legendary batters on the cricket pitch to catching snakes in his house, McGrath is definitely a jack of all trades. In the video, the former Aussie bowler can be seen trying to get hold of what, reportedly, is a Coastal Carpet Python. McGrath uses a wooden mop in an attempt to get a hold of the reptile. After initially struggling a little, the Aussie finally gets a good grip on the snake as he slowly takes it outside his house. In the post’s caption McGrath revealed that it was one of three snakes that were found inside his house. “After plenty of encouragement & support from @saraleonmcgrath all 3 Coastal Carpet Pythons that were in the house were safely released back into the bush”, he wrote.

The video has sparked mixed reactions in the comments section as people cannot help but talk about the feral moment. Former Australian pacer Brett Lee was spotted in the comments section as he wrote, “Yes Pidge”. It referred to McGrath’s nickname “Pigeon” during his active years.

Ex-England cricketer Adam Hollioake looked at the funny side of this confrontation. He wrote, “Haha, good technique mate. Steve Irwin couldn’t have done it any better”.

Australian cricket icon and one of the best openers to ever play cricket, Matthew Hayden was also impressed with McGrath’s skills. He commented, “Brilliant”.

Cricket journalist Alison Mitchell commented, “There’s a song somewhere about a pigeon, a python, a mop and a pair of thongs.”

While several people were amazed at the cricketer’s skill, one user believed that it is best to call a professional snake catcher in such a situation. “I would hate to be the fun police here, but please call a professional snake catcher next time @glennmcgrath11. In Australia, it’s illegal to catch and relocate snakes without government permits, insurance and experience! Thanks.”

Glenn McGrath is widely regarded as one of the game’s greatest-ever bowlers. The Aussie was unstoppable during his prime years as he scalped 563 Test wickets in his career. With more than 900 international wickets to his name, McGrath decided to hang his boots from both the Test and ODI formats in 2007. He is also one of the few players to have won three consecutive ODI World Cups, marking an era of Australian dominance from 1999-2007.

Speaking of the ODI World Cup, Australia are set to clash against India at the upcoming marquee event on October 8. It will be interesting to see if they can lift the trophy for a record sixth time.
