Team India batter Virat Kohli may not have delivered a big performance in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final clash, but he stole the limelight during the post-match celebrations. Kohli was seen poking fun at wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, and the video quickly went viral across social media platforms.
India secured their second consecutive ICC title as Rohit Sharma led the team to victory in the Champions Trophy final. Team India defeated New Zealand by four wickets in the final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, March 9. They completed the tournament without losing a single match.

During the trophy ceremony, as the India national cricket team lined up for a group photo, Virat Kohli grabbed a bottle of champagne and sprayed it on Rishabh Pant. The young wicketkeeper was completely shocked by this from the former India skipper.

Notably, the 36-year-old batter secured his fourth ICC title with the India national cricket team as a player. He had won the 2011 ODI World Cup, the 2013 Champions Trophy, and the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Virat Kohli had an impressive campaign in the Champions Trophy. He was dismissed for just one run in the final against New Zealand. The batter finished the tournament with 218 runs in five matches, averaging 54.50 with a strike rate of 82.88, including one century and one half-century.
Kohli played two crucial knocks—an unbeaten 100 against Pakistan and 84 against Australia—which were instrumental in guiding India to the finals.
The 36-year-old will next be seen in action in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, which will begin on March 22. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will take on the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the season opener at Eden Gardens.

Speaking after the match, Kohli stated that they wanted to win the title following a disappointing Border-Gavaskar Trophy series. Kohli mentioned that players stepped up in pressure situations and that the team had an amazing tournament.
“It’s been amazing, we wanted to bounce back after the tough Australia tour, we wanted to win. Feels good to be part of the such young talent, we’re happy to help, try to make an impact whenever there’s a chance,” Kohli said.
“These are the things, you look forward to situation under pressure. Teams stepped up different situation, everyone have put up hand at different times, such impactful knocks, spells. Only collective effort can win you titles. We’ve had a great time as a team, and was an amazing tournament,” he continued.
