India National Cricket Team pacer Mohammed Siraj had a great outing with the ball on Day 1 of the ongoing first Test against the Australia National Cricket Team. The Optus Stadium in Perth is hosting the first game of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
Mohammed Siraj provided great support to skipper Jasprit Bumrah with the ball as he bowled terrific lines and lengths and troubled the batters. The fast bowler didn’t look in good shape in this first spell, but he made sure that he corrected that immediately and made up for that in the second innings.
Mohammed Siraj, in his second spell, seemed unplayable as he made the ball talk and moved the ball both ways. Not only he troubled the batters but he also went on to remove two wickets for the India National Cricket Team in Mitchell Marsh and Marnus Labuschagne.

But it’s fair to say that the wicket of Marnus Labuschagne was planned by Virat Kohli for him. Virat Kohli, who was in the slips, looked proactive on the field and was constantly seen passing on his inputs to the skipper Jasprit Bumrah and other bowlers as well.
Ahead of the wicket of Marnus Labuschagne, Virat Kohli was seen gesturing something to Mohammed Siraj. The batter was potentially telling him to keep the ball in, and the pacer did exactly that, and it resulted in the wicket of the Australia National Cricket Team batter.
Mohammed Siraj bowled a full ball that pitched just outside off. There was a lot of movement off the seam as the batter was wrapped on the pads as he attempted to play the flick. The right-hander struggled to get going as he ended with the innings of 2 off 52 balls.

Coming to the game, India and Australia shared the of the Day 1 of the ongoing first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. As many as 17 wickets fell on the opening days as an exciting day unfolded in Perth.
Opting to bat isn’t the kind of start that India would have wanted. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal bagged ducks and also Virat Kohli fell early as well for five. KL Rahul (26) looked solid but was given out controversially.
India was left reeling at 73 for six and it was then when Rishabh Pant (37) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (41) joined hands. They added 48 runs for the seventh wicket to bring the team back. But Australia kept picking wickets regularly and bundled out the opposition for 150, with Josh Hazlewood being the pick of bowlers with his four-wicket haul.
With the ball then, Jasprit Bumrah took India off to a flying start. He three wickets in his first spell, removing Nathan Mcsweeny, Usman Khawaja and Steve Smith. Debutant Harshit Rana removed Travis Head (11) before Mohammed Siraj sent Mitchell Marsh and Marnus Labuschagne packing to leave Australia tottering at 47/6.
Alex Carey (19*) stayed unbeaten along with Mitchell Starc as Australia ended day one for 67/7 with 83 still behind.
