The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) has canceled Sunday’s eight-race card at Aqueduct Racetrack due to unacceptable noise levels created by the ‘March Madness Auto and Bike Show’, an event being held at the neighboring Resorts World Casino.
NYRA was not notified in advance that the event would create potentially unsafe racing conditions. Despite NYRA’s repeated attempts to rectify the situation, Resorts World Casino was unable to make the adjustments necessary to allow racing to proceed.
As a result, Sunday’s card has been canceled in its entirety.
Aqueduct Racetrack will remain open for simulcasting on Sunday, and online wagering is available through www.NYRABets.com.
Live racing at Aqueduct will resume on Thursday with an eight-race card to mark the beginning of the Big A spring meet. First post is 1:10 p.m. Eastern.
