Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) fans were left deeply frustrated and responded with angry remarks online after the team’s wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan played a match-losing knock against the Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad in IPL 2025 on Friday, May 2.

Chasing a huge target of 225 after a disappointing outing as a bowling unit, Sunrisers required each of their batters to come out firing for a much-needed victory. But while opener Abhishek Sharma’s spirited 74 off 41 deliveries raised his team’s hopes, Kishan’s shocking 13 off 17 deliveries completely crashed them as it took the asking rate well out of Sunrisers’ reach before the visitors suffered a 38-run loss in a do-or-die encounter.

As Kishan walked back, social media started buzzing with angry and trolling remarks for the Indian cricketer, who notably suffered his eighth failure on the bounce for Hyderabad in this year’s IPL. Since producing a magnificent hundred in SRH’s opening game versus the Rajasthan Royals and playing a decent cameo against Chennai Super Kings, Kishan has lost his form drastically and has not contributed much.

“Ishan kishan= Tuktuk player,” said one Twitter user, calling Kishan a slow-goer at the crease, who plays dot balls, in Hindi.

Another commented that the player’s disappointing performances vindicates the call made by his old franchise – Mumbai Indians – to let him go. “Ishan Kishan showing yet again why the MI management had lost all faith in him. The century in the first game now looks like a fluke!”

Here are a few other reactions

After kickstarting the season with a tremendous knock of 106* in his team’s victory over the Royals, Kishan played an innings of 44 versus the Super Kings in the next game. But ever since, his scores have dipped shockingly. The left-hander has made 0, 2, 2, 17, 9*, 2, 1 and 13 in his last eight innings of IPL 2025, failing to reach double digits on six occasions.
