Disarm , who last year ran fourth in the Kentucky Derby (G1) at Churchill Downs, finds an easier assignment at the Louisville, Ky., track for his 4-year-old debut May 18.
The millionaire, unraced since a runner-up finish to champion Arcangelo in the Travers Stakes (G1) last summer at Saratoga Race Course, returns Saturday night in the fourth race at Churchill, a $134,000 second-level allowance optional claiming race. Post time for the fourth race is 7:26 p.m. ET.

A son of Gun Runner who captured the 2023 Matt Winn Stakes (G3) at Ellis Park for owner/breeder Winchell Thoroughbreds and Hall of Fame trainer Steve Asmussen, Disarm is favored at 4-5 odds on the morning line against five rivals. The opposition is led by Howling Time , a stakes winner in 2021 who seeks to rebound after two disappointing losses in 2023-24.
Jockey Keith Asmussen, the trainer’s son, will be aboard the favorite.
Disarm, drawn in post 1, has breezed at times leading up to his return with the talented Extra Anejo , an Asmussen/Winchell Thoroughbreds runner who was fourth when last in action in the 2023 Haskell Stakes (G1).
Extra Anejo is entered as a main-track-only runner in the 10th race on the Saturday card at Churchill Downs, another second-level allowance optional claiming race. If the one-mile race is transferred from turf to dirt—there is a threat of rain—he could gain a return opportunity.
