Tilak Varma confirmed to move to Goa along with Yashasvi Jaiswal? HCA Secretary breaks silence

A report recently claimed that Hyderabad batter Tilak Varma might shift to a different team for the upcoming 2025/26 domestic season. However, Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) Secretary R. Devraj confirmed that Varma will continue to represent the Hyderabad team in domestic tournaments.

Indian players are required to play domestic cricket whenever they are not representing the national team. The BCCI conducted a series review meetings following India’s 1-3 loss to Australia in the BGT. New guidelines were introduced, including a rule mandating domestic cricket participation for all players.

Tilak Varma Remains Committed to Representing Hyderabad – HCA Secretary

HCA Secretary R. Devraj dismissed reports suggesting that Tilak Varma might switch to Goa for the upcoming domestic season. In a statement on Thursday, he said that he had personally spoken to Tilak and urged everyone to avoid spreading false information.

“I have spoken with Tilak Varma this morning, and can confirm that these rumours are completely baseless and untrue. Tilak Varma remains committed to representing his home state, Hyderabad, and takes immense pride in doing so,” Devraj said, as quoted by Telangana Today.

“We urge everyone to refrain from spreading misinformation and to support our players as they continue to contribute to Hyderabad cricket,” he added.

India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has decided to switch from Mumbai to Goa for the upcoming domestic season after being offered a leadership role. Goa, recently promoted to the Elite Division of the Ranji Trophy, had attracted players like Arjun Tendulkar and Siddhesh Lad from Mumbai.
