Yashasvi Jaiswal is currently gearing up for his maiden appearance in the ICC T20 World Cup. The opening batsman has been selected in the 15-member India squad for the marquee event, scheduled to be played from June 1 to 29 in the United States of America and West Indies.
He was competing with the likes of Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Ishan Kishan for Rohit Sharma’s opening partner and the selectors eventually decided to pick him ahead of his senior teammates. He and most of the players left for the USA last week to begin their preparations for the World Cup.
Yashasvi Jaiswal is also making sure to keep his fans updated with his activities in New York. On Tuesday (May 28), he posted a couple of selfies on Instagram. The southpaw clicked the photos while posing by the road. And his senior teammate Suryakumar Yadav came up with a hilarious response to his post.
The India star trolled the young opener by using captain Rohit Sharma’s famous “Garden mein ghoomega” dialogue. Rohit had come up with the sentence earlier this year during the Vizag Test against England. The India captain was warning his teammates to stay alert on the field and had famously said: “Koi bhi garden ghoomta nhi dikhna chahiye, nhi to mai…”
Taking inspiration from Rohit’s words, Suryakumar Yadav wrote: “Sambhaal ke. Garden me ghoomega tho pata hai na (Be careful. You know what will happen if you roam in the garden”.
Yashasvi Jaiswal shines in T20s:
