Daredevil – Todd Pletcher trained grade 1 winner was one of the favorites for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile and a serious Triple Crown contender but stumbled to a last of 11 finish in the Breeders’ Cup. His other two career starts were wins – an impressive debut – a 6 1/2 length maiden score at Belmont Park September 13 and a nice 2 1/2 length win over Upstart in the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park October 4 with a field best 104 Beyer Speed Figure. He will be looking for a strong bounce back to prove that his BC result was the exception, not the rule. Javier Castellano will be in the saddle of the 123 highweight from the rail after three bullet works this month.

Souper Colossal – multiple stakes winning Edward Plesa trained colt has four wins in five career starts – the only blemish was a seventh in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. Before that race was a nice win in the minor Sapling Stakes which followed a win in the minor Tyro Stakes and a maiden score in June – all three results at Monmouth Park. He bounced back last time out with an easy 1 1/2 length win in the minor Texas Glitter Stakes on this very track February 7. Joel Rosario will be in charge looking for Souper Colossal’s first graded stakes win from post 5 Saturday.

X Y Jet – Jorge Navarro trained gelding has eight career starts already with a win, five seconds and a third place finish. He enters off a good second in the Grade 3 Hutcheson Stakes on this track January 24, an OK second in the minor Pasco Stakes at Tampa Bay December 27, a fourth in the minor Buffalo Man Stakes and a maiden score at Gulfstream Park West – in his fifth career start. He hasn’t been worse than fourth yet, has four runner-up finishes in five tries at Gulfstream and hopes to snap a string of consecutive runner-up finishes. Edgard Zayas rides from the outside post.

Ready for Rye – Thomas Albertrani trained gelding makes his graded stakes debut Saturday after three career starts produces a win and two second place finishes. Last time out was a respectable second in the minor Spectacular Bid Stakes on this track January 3 after a maiden score in his second career start. He looked good in his stakes debut – hopes are he can carry that forward into graded stakes company. Irad Ortiz rides from post 3.

Twotwentyfive A – has seven career starts for trainer Stanley Gold but hasn’t looked good lately. He did win the minor Florida Sire Affirmed Stakes in September at this distance on this track but has failed to place in his last five starts overall- all minor stakes races. Last time out was an eleventh in the Kitten’s Joy Stakes in his turf debut after an OK fourth in the Mucho Macho Man Stakes (both results on this track), a fifth in the Buffalo Man Stakes and consecutive fourths on Florida tracks. Twotwentyfive A hopes to snap a prolonged slump from gate 4 with Rafael Manuel Hernandez aboard.

Grand Bili – has just one career start for trainer Gustavo Delgado and it was a good one- a maiden score on this track February 1.He hits the track for just the second time Saturday with Luiz Saez in the irons from post6.

Senor Grits – Ian Wilkes trained colt has four career starts with two wins and a third place finish. He enters off an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Tampa Bay Downs January 31, a third in his only stakes action – the minor James F. Lewis II Stakes at Laurel Park in November and a maiden score in his second start on October at Churchill Downs. Julien Leparoux gets the call in his graded stakes debut from post 2.
