California-bred stakes winner Lord Prancealot , a 3-year-old colt by Sir Prancealot , has been retired from racing after suffering a bowed tendon in training last month. Lord Prancealot was trained by Jeff Bonde and owned by Jeff Ganje and Rusty Brown.
Bred in California by Jeff Ganje, Lord Prancealot won his first two career starts, including last year’s Graduation Stakes at Del Mar. Lord Prancealot was lightly raced due to injuries, winning three of five starts with earnings of $144,280.
“Lord Prancealot was my first home-bred stakes winner and Sir Prancealot’s first Cal-bred stakes winner. He had so much talent, but never got the opportunity to fulfill his potential due to injuries,” said Ganje who recently campaigned graded stakes-winning millionaire Shotgun Hottie .
Lord Prancealot will rehab at Kingfisher Farms in Solvang, Calif., and will be rehomed through Kingfisher Equine Rescue and Rehabilitation (KERRI), a non-profit 501c3 organization dedicated to helping off the track Thoroughbreds find their next home.
“Lord Prancealot is the kindest and sweetest colt I’ve ever owned. He’s going to make someone very happy in the next stage of his life,” added Ganje.
