A unique incident happened during the 36th match of Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25 between Brisbane Heat and Hobart Hurricanes at the Gabba when a fire broke out in the DJ Booth on the third tier of the ground.
The incident happened after four overs in the second innings of the match when Hobart Hurricanes were batting. As a result, the play was delayed for a few minutes. A man used the fire extinguisher and was seen trying to close it out.
However, his effort wasn’t enough and another fire extinguisher was needed. The fans were immediately evacuated from the nearby stands. After some serious effort, the fire was brought under control.
