Señorita Stakes 2013 at Hollywood Park

Las Vegas, NV – The Grade 3 Señorita Stakes is on tap for this Saturday, May 11 from Betfair Hollywood Park in Inglewood, California. Three year old fillies will take to the track and go one mile on Hollywood Park’s turf track for their share of the $100,000 purse.

A field of eight three year old females will line up in the Señorita Stakes – race 6 on Hollywood Park’s Saturday card. Post time is 3:35 PM. Let’s take a look at the credentials of all eight entries for this Grade 3 stakes and what could play out Saturday.

Scarlet Strike – Jerry Hollendorfer hopes to continue his success at the Hollywood Park meet when he sends out Scarlet Strike who has placed in all 10 career starts – two wins, three seconds and five third place finishes. Last time out was a very impressive win as 2-1 favorite in the Grade 3 Providencia at Santa Anita April 6 after an OK third in the Grade 1 Las Virgenes Stakes March 2, another third in the Grade 3 Santa Ysabel January 16, a second by a nose in the Blue Norther Stakes and a decent third in the Grade 3 Hollywood Starlet December 8. She is the biggest name in the Señorita and is the unquestioned favorite.

Sweet Red Cat – John Sadler pupil had a two race win streak in the winter – a MSW at Hollywood Park December 7 and a Starter Allowance at Santa Anita February 17. She followed that with a second in an Allowance March 21 and was third last time out in her graded stakes debut – the Grade 3 Providencia behind Scarlet Strike April 6 at Santa Anita.

Showgirl Form – broke maiden last time out by 2 1/4 lengths at this distance in her third career start at Golden Gate April 27 after a seventh and a second in MSW races at Santa Anita in March.

Charlie Em – British bred filly makes her North American debut Saturday after eight starts at home produced three wins, a second and a third place finish. She has just one career start at this distance and came out victorious in that race. She makes her seasonal debut from post 7 Saturday.

Disko Dasko – French bred filly had four starts in France with a minor stakes win in her last start at Longchamp in October. She went on and won her next start – her first appearance in North America in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Santa Anita March 15. Last time out was a fourth in her North American Stakes debut – the minor Runway Stakes at Santa Anita April 13.

Lilbourne Eliza – Irish bred filly has placed in all five of her career starts – a win, two seconds and two third place finishes. In her only start in North America she was second by a nose in a one mile Allowance Optional Claiming April 18 after six months off and a third in her last race in Ireland.

Kyriaki – has raced three times in her career – two MSW races at Santa Anita and a sixth last time out in her stakes debut – the Grade 3 Providencia Stakes at Santa Anita April 6. She broke maiden in her second career start in March after a third in her debut January 25

Need You Now – Irish bred filly had two wins in four starts in Ireland before shipping to North America where she finished fifth last time out in the minor Runway Stakes at Santa Anita April 13.
