Senor Buscador, Forever Young Arrive in Dubai

Saudi Cup (G1) hero Senor Buscador  has arrived at Meydan Racecourse in Dubai ahead of his engagement in the $12 million Dubai World Cup (G1) March 30.

The Dubai Racing media team reported that Senor Buscador and Saudi Derby (G3) winner Forever Young  both arrived on the racetrack grounds around 4 p.m. local time.

Joe Peacock Jr., owner and breeder of Senor Buscador, had tweeted “on to Dubai” the day following the 5-year-old’s thrilling, late-running score over Ushba Tesoro  in the $20 million Saudi Cup. It was the first grade 1/group 1 win for the Todd Fincher trainee. He entered the Saudi Cup off a half-length defeat to 2023 Preakness Stakes (G1) winner National Treasure in the Jan. 27 Pegasus World Cup Invitational (G1).

Japan’s Ushba Tesoro is expected to renew his rivalry with Senor Buscador and defend his title in the Dubai World Cup.

Also representing Japan is the undefeated 3-year-old Forever Young in the UAE Derby (G2) on the Dubai World Cup undercard. The son of Reel Steel came from the clouds to catch Book’em Danno  in the final strides of the Saudi Derby, shattering the track record for 1,600 meters by about two seconds.

The connections of Forever Young have said that a trip to the Kentucky Derby (G1) is likely if Forever Young can secure the 100-Road to the Derby points allotted to the winner of the 1,900-meter UAE Derby.
