Las Vegas, NV – Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York will be the scene of the Grade 3 Schuylerville Stakes on opening Friday, July 19. Two year old fillies will be featured as they sprint six furlongs on Saratoga’s dirt track in search of the winner’s share of the $150,000 purse.
A well matched field of seven two year olds will line up in the Schuylerville Stakes – race 9 on Saratoga’s Friday schedule. Post time is 5:20 PM. Let’s take a brief glance into the credentials of all seven combatants for this Grade 3 stakes.
Elena Strikes – Todd Pletcher trained filly won her one and only career start – a five furlong MSW race by 2 3/4 lengths at Monmouth Park June 22. Javier Castellano will get the mount on this promising young filly – what else would you expect from Todd Pletcher? She is a coupled entry along with…
Yes Liz – also has just one career start for trainer Todd Pletcher at this distance and it too was a MSW score – this time at Belmont Park July 3. John Velazquez will be in the saddle from Post 6.
Jonesin for Jerry – John Robb trained filly finished second in a Maiden Claiming in her career debut at Pimlico in May but followed that with a nice gate-to-wire MSW score last time out at Delaware Park June 29. She is another of the well matched field that could emerge victorious Friday.
Bahnah – Bret Calhoun trained filly will take to the track for her second career start Friday after a 4 1/2 furlong MSW score by 4 1/2 lengths in her debut at Churchill Downs June 6.

Brazen Persuasion – Steve Asmussen trained filly has two career starts – a second in her debut and a six furlong MSW score by 4 3/4 lengths last time out June 29 at Churchill Downs. She is the most expensive purchase in the field – a lot is expected!
True Blue Nation – Thomas Albertini pupil has just one career start but it was a good one – a five furlong MSW score by 5 1/4 lengths at 17-1 odds at Belmont Park June 21. Her trainer has high hopes for this filly – Friday will go a long way in telling if Albertini is on to something.
Silver Valley – Ron Moquett trained filly has two career starts. After breaking maiden May 25 at Lone Star, she made her stakes debut June 22 and finished fourth in the minor six furlong Debutante Stakes at Churchill Downs. She is the lone contender with stakes experience but is the only filly not coming off a win.
