After displaying a fantastic captaincy in the first innings of the ICC Champions 2025 final, Rohit Sharma continued his brilliance in the match with the bat.

Rohit took India off to a flying start by playing his natural attacking brand of cricket. He smashed the Kiwi bowlers all over the park and pushed New Zealand on the backfoot early on in the innings.

Meanwhile, a scary incident happened after the third ball of the fourth over, which was a wide delivery bowled by pacer William O’Rourke.

Rohit Sharma suddenly went to the side and was seen facing some trouble. He was seen coughing and heaving while catching his chest and stomach.

On-air English commentator Simon Doull and Hindi commentator Aakash Chopra suspected that the Indian skipper swallowed a bug, which resulted in him struggling to breathe properly.

Rohit Sharma instantly called physio on the ground and after having some drinks, he was good to go. Looking at things unfold in the middle, Rohit’s wife, Ritika Sajdeh, who was in the stands, looked concerned.

How did India Perform In ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Semi-final 1?

The Men In Blue locked horns with Australia in the semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. India delivered a good performance in the match and bagged a 4-wicket victory with 11 balls remaining.

Opting to bat first, Australia scored 264 runs before being bowled out in 49.3 overs. Steve Smith (73 off 96) emerged as the top performer in the innings and he received great support from Travis Head (39) and Alex Carey (61).

India’s bowling attack in the innings was spearheaded by Mohammed Shami (3/48) as he bagged a three-wicket haul while Varun Chakravarthy, Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel also chipped in with crucial wickets.

Chasing the target, India had early hiccups with Shubman Gill (8) and Rohit Sharma (28), who got two lifelines, falling cheaply. However, Virat Kohli (84 off 98) once again showcased a batting masterclass, stitching crucial partnerships with Shreyas Iyer (45), Axar Patel (27) and KL Rahul (42*).

Kohli, however, didn’t remain in the middle till the end as he got out while going for a boundary. Meanwhile, the finishing touch came from KL Rahul (42* off 34) and Hardik Pandya (28 off 24), who accelerated at the right moment, and the chase was completed in 48.1 overs.
