South Africa will be going one-on-one against Australia once again this Friday in the fourth match of the ODI series. Both teams have been warming themselves up in a bilateral series to prepare for the World Cup. South Africa have been underwhelming in recent ICC tournaments and they will be looking to make some impact at the upcoming marquee event in India.
The Proteas are currently hosting Australia in the ODI series which will be a tune-up for them for the mega ICC event. The two teams will take on each other at the SuperSport Park Cricket Stadium in Gauteng, South Africa. Australia had proven to be the better team in their ongoing series with a 2-1 series after the first three ODIs They will be looking to recover from the defeat in 3rd ODI and clinch the series.
In the third ODI, South Africa batted first to set a 338-run scoreline. It was Quinton de Kock who led from the front, scoring 82 runs in 77 balls. The wicketkeeper-batter belted 10 boundaries and two sixes in the game. Temba Bavuma also scored a half-century before Aiden Markram nailed an unbeaten 102 runs in 74 balls.
In the following innings, Australia enjoyed a good start as David Warner hit 78 runs in 56 balls. The Aussie batter hit an astonishing 10 boundaries in the game, alongside three maximums. South Africa’s Gerald Coetzee picked up a four-wicket haul to curb the Australian batters at a score of 227 runs. Tabraiz Shamsi and Keshav Maharaj also contributed with two wickets each to seal a 111-run victory for the Aussies.
