Rishabh Pant plays a reverse lap shot when India’s score reads 12/3 vs New Zealand in Bengaluru

Team India keeper-batter Rishabh Pant attempted an outrageous reverse lap shot during the ongoing first Test match against New Zealand. However, Rishabh Pant failed to send the ball toward the boundary during India’s first innings at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Thursday, October 17.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma opted to bat first after winning despite knowing the conditions would favor fast bowlers. The visiting team made the most of the conditions and picked up three wickets inside the first hour of play. Rishabh Pant came to the crease when the team was struggling at 10/3 inside 10 overs.

The incident took place on the fifth delivery of the 12th over in India’s first innings. Matt Henry bowled a length delivery on off-stump, and Rishabh Pant played a ramp shot. However, Pant failed to middle the shot as it hit his gloves and lobbed towards the leg-slip area, where no fielder was present.
