Rishabh Pant’s return to the Gabba after his 2021 heroics brought him a wicketkeeping milestone after he caught Usman Khawaja on the second morning of India’s third Test against Australia in Brisbane.
It was the 150th victim for Pant as a wicketkeeper.
Gabba was the venue where Pant played a match-winning knock of 89 not out three years to clinch a thrilling three-wicket win for India, which also ended Australia’s unbeaten run at the venue since 1988.

On Sunday, it didn’t take long for India to strike after rain allowed just 13.2 overs on day one following Rohit Sharma’s decision to bowl after winning the toss.
Bowling the 17th over of Australia’s first innings, Bumrah got one to seam away from Khawaja just enough to find an edge, which was safely pouched by Pant to end the home team’s opening stand at 31.
In his next over, Bumrah struck again to get rid of Nathan McSweeney for 9 to make it 38 for 2.
Sharing the video of Pant’s milestone on X, his new Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Lucknow Super Giants wrote: “Din ki shuruaat Rishabh ke 150th Test dismissal ke saath (the day begins with Pant’s 150th Test dismissal).”
Lucknow shelled out a record-breaking Rs 27 crore to buy Pant at the IPL auction last month.
The teams entered the Brisbane Test with the five-Test Border Gavaskar Trophy series level at 1-1. India won the first Test in Perth by 295 runs, and Australia came back to win the pink-ball match in Adelaide by 10 wickets.
