Prince Yadav sacrifices hand but produces insane run-out to dismiss Heinrich Klaasen

Heinrich Klaasen was run out in an unfortunate fashion during the ongoing game between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

The wicketkeeper-batsman walked out to bat in the eighth over after SRH lost the huge wicket of Travis Head. The Hyderabad-based outfit was off to a shaky start after LSG captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and invited them to bat first.

In the third over of the innings, Shardul Thakur dismissed Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan on successive deliveries to put his team in the driver’s seat. Head and Nitish Reddy then ensured that SRH did not lose any more wickets in the powerplay.

Just when it looked like they were well set for a big partnership, Prince Yadav castled Head to put his team in a commanding position once again. However, Heinrich Klaasen batted positively right from the start to put SRH on course for a good total.

Heinrich Klaasen’s unfortunate run-out:

In no time, Klaasen raced away to 26 runs. However, before he could convert his start into a big score, he was run out in an unfortunate fashion. The incident took place on the final ball of the 12th over when he was standing at the non-striker’s end while Reddy was facing Prince.

Prince bowled a low full toss outside the off stump that Reddy drilled hard towards the pacer’s left side. The LSG bowler stretched his left hand in an attempt to catch the ball but failed. However, he did just enough to catch Heinrich Klaasen short of his crease at the non-striker’s end.

The ball hit his outstretched left hand before deflecting sharply towards the stump. Heinrich Klaasen was well outside of his crease at that time and had very little time to react. Before he could get back inside the crease, the ball had hit the stumps. He departed after scoring 26 runs off 17 balls. Also, Prince was in severe pain after pulling off the dismissal.

Watch the run-out:

Talking about the game, SRH were on 143/5 after 15 overs at the time of writing this report. Aniket Verma and Abhinav Manohar were batting in the middle for last year’s runners-up.
