Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has quashed circulating rumors about an alleged cancellation of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 schedule announcement. Addressing the fierce rumors, the PCB has clarified that no scheduled event had been planned for November 11 in Lahore, let alone canceled.
A PCB representative revealed that the rumors of cancellation of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 schedule announcement stunned the board. The official has reiterated that the PCB officials were neither consulted nor involved in any such plans. He urged the fans and the media to avoid the rumors until official updates come from the ICC.

The PCB official dismissed the reports as baseless, clarifying that no announcement had been scheduled in the first place. The official noted that any formal arrangements for the Champions Trophy 2025 involve the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) overseeing logistical planning, and no such preparations are underway till now.

A PCB official was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan: “There was no program set for the final schedule announcement on November 11, and no such announcement was made.”
The rumors were fueled by recent media claims, suggesting that the ICC had delayed an official announcement of the schedule for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025.
Initial reports hinted that November 11 was to be the date of a grand event in Lahore, featuring a trophy tour and branding launch, which would have coincided with the start of a 100-day countdown.

One of the primary challenges adding to the confusion is the uncertainty surrounding India’s participation in the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan. The political tensions between the two nations continue to cast a shadow over India’s willingness to travel for the eight-team mega event, complicating scheduling for the ICC.
However, the ICC reaffirmed its commitment to keeping fans informed and assured that any confirmed plans for the Champions Trophy 2025 would be communicated directly through official channels. However, he revealed that the ICC and PCB have not yet finalized the schedule for the event.

An ICC official revealed, “The schedule is not confirmed yet. We are still in discussions with the host and participating nations about the Champions Trophy schedule. Once everything is confirmed, we will make an official announcement through our usual channels.”
PCB demands in writing why BCCI will not send Team India to Pakistan
Meanwhile, the BCCI has already formally informed the ICC that they can’t send Team India to Pakistan for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as they have not gotten permission from the Government of India. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) insisted that it has not received any communication either from the ICC or from the BCCInregarding the same.
Mohsin Naqvi, the PCB chairman, told reporters in Lahore: “We have a clear stance that they must give it to us in writing if they [the Indian cricket board] have any issues.”
