For the last few months, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been putting in hard yards to renovate the stadiums in Pakistan. This is because venues in the country weren’t fit to host the ICC event, and hence, they were told by the global cricket body to make stadiums fit for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Pakistan is all set to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025
Pakistan is all set to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This is the first time since the 1996 World Cup that they will be hosting the ICC event. The last they had a multi-nation event was last year when the Asia Cup took place in Pakistan, but they couldn’t host all the games in a hybrid model.
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025, will be played in a hybrid model, but Pakistan will be hosting the majority of the game. It is learned that 10 games will be played across three venues in Pakistan in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi, while 5 games will be played in UAE.
The renovation work at all three venues will be ending soon
The renovation work at all three venues will be ending soon and the stadiums will be hosting games of the tri-series as well as the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The tournament is all set to take place in February-March next year in a hybrid model.
Pakistan National Cricket Team are the defending champions. They won the tournament in 2017 and after that, the tournament was discontinued by the ICC. The Mohammad Rizwan-led side would be keen to defend their title and give their fans something to cheer about.
The tri-series against the New Zealand National Cricket Team and the South Africa National Cricket Team will be a great preparation for the Pakistan National Cricket Team for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. They would want to win the series and head into the tournament high on confidence.
