MI vs KKR, Match 12 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 took place at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Monday (31st March). After two back-to-back losses, Mumbai Indians managed their first win of the tournament as they beat Kolkata Knight by eight wickets.
Asked to bat, Kolkata Knight Riders were off to the worst possible start with the bat as first Sunil Narine fell in the first over, and then Quinton de Kock (1) perished in the second, followed by skipper Ajinkya Rahane (11) in the third over.
The defending champions were left at 23 for three, and they never recovered after that as Mumbai Indians bowlers kept picking wickets regularly. Angkrish Raghuvanshi (26) looked the only settled batter but he couldn’t carry on. Kolkata Knight Riders were forced to bring in an Impact player in the first innings, with Manish Pandey (19) being the one.
He, too, couldn’t do much as Kolkata Knight Riders were reduced to 99 for nine. Ramandeep Singh (22) took his team past 100 runs as Kolkata ended with a total of 116. For Mumbai Indians, debutant Ashwani Kumar was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of four for 24.
Mumbai Indians had a solid start to their chase, with Rohit Sharma (13) and Ryan Rickelton adding 46 runs for the opening partnership. After the former skipper was back, Will Jacks (16) supported Rickelton well as they added 45 runs for the second wicket. Suryakumar Yadav (27*) also had a decent outing as Mumbai chased the target with eight wickets and around 7 overs to spare.

There wasn’t much change in the IPL Points Table 2025 After MI vs KKR, Match 12. Royal Challengers Bengaluru retained their spot at the top of the table followed by Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants, Gujarat Titans, and Punjab Kings. Mumbai Indians climbed to 6th while Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, and Kolkata Knight Riders are the last four teams on the table.
