Chennai Super Kings (CSK) keeper-batter MS Dhoni had a great outing behind the stumps in the ongoing IPL 2025 game against Mumbai Indians (MI). The third game of the tournament between the teams is taking place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
MS Dhoni’s presence behind the stumps was greeted immensely by fans in the ongoing game against Mumbai Indians. The keeper-batter was welcomed by the fans massively and all the attention was on him as he was behind the stumps.
MS Dhoni also made sure that he gave his fans something to cheer about. The keeper-batter first came up with the lightning-quick stumping behind the stumps to send Suryakumar Yadav packing. And then, also came up with the brilliant DRS call to remove Mitchell Santner.
It was during the last ball of the 18th over when Nathan Ellis bowled a short-of-length delivery, and it skidded across. Mitchell Santner was rooted to the crease and was beaten for pace. The ball struck him on the back pad as he was right in front of the stumps.
The umpire didn’t term it out, but bowler Nathan Ellis was confident that the ball was at least hitting the stumps. He asked MS Dhoni about it, and the keeper-batter came up with a quiet nod, and Chennai Super Kings skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad went for DRS.
The ball-tracking showed it to be hitting the top of the middle stump as Mitchell Santner had to take the long walk back to the pavilion.
