Mohsin Naqvi rejects ‘Hybrid Model’ talks, fires Indian government big warning

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi rubbished off all the rumors and reports related to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 being held in a hybrid model. He said that Indian Media is circulating fake news, and if this is about to happen, then BCCI should give this in writing.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has been in the news for the last few days. There have been various reports related to the tournament being held in the hybrid model for the Indian team. According to that, Men in Blue will be playing all their games in the UAE while the rest of the tournament will be played in Pakistan.

The reports claimed that the Indian government has denied giving clearance to the BCCI for sending India to Pakistan. This prompted BCCI to write to ICC that they want the tournament to be held in a hybrid model with Men in Blue playing all their games in UAE.

But the Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi has mentioned that they haven’t heard anything about the hybrid model. He said if the Indian Team doesn’t want to travel to Pakistan, then they should give it in writing. Speaking to the media, he explained:

“No one has talked about the hybrid model for the Champions Trophy with PCB. BCCI should, in writing, tell PCB that the Indian Cricket Team is not visiting Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. Indian Media has been spreading news for the last two months that the Indian Cricket Team is not visiting Pakistan.”

Mohsin Naqvi also mentioned that cricket should be kept away from politics. He added that they have been good to India, but this time around, they won’t be tolerating. He also talked about the preparations and added:

“Cricket should be clean from politics. Pakistan will conclude preparations within time to host the Champions Trophy. Pakistan has shown goodwill gestures to India in the past, but this will not happen every time. PCB is doing complete preparations to host the Champions Trophy in Pakistan in December 2024.”

Mohsin Naqvi also expressed his confidence in the Indian Cricket Team visiting Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He also claimed that he is in contact with the other boards and they have no objections.

Mohsin Naqvi further said that he is confident that ICC will be announcing the schedule for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 soon. He hopes that fans from all across the world will come to Pakistan. He added:

“I feel positive and want the Indian Cricket Team to visit Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. I’m in contact with other cricket boards who want the Champions Trophy to be played in Pakistan. I hope no other cricket board will become part of any politics against Pakistan Cricket regarding the Champions Trophy.”

“PCB hope ICC should announce the schedule of the Champions Trophy as quickly as possible. PCB want cricket fans from all across the globe to visit Pakistan during the Champions Trophy,” he concluded.
