The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, has finally broken his silence on all the matters surrounding the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Mohsin Naqvi’s recent remarks also hint that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has accepted the hybrid model proposed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the Champions Trophy 2025.

Pakistan put forward some demands to accept- Reports
According to the latest reports in the Indian media, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) put forward some demands to accept the hybrid model.
This was a big development as the PCB presented a soft stance, which was a huge change as earlier they had threatened to pull out of the tournament if all the matches of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 weren’t played in Pakistan.
Reportedly, Pakistan demanded that the hybrid model format be adopted in all the ICC events in India till 2031, which will see Team Pakistan not visiting India for four ICC competitions. Other than this, PCB also demanded financial perks – an increase in its annual ICC share of revenues from 5.75 percent.

Speaking to reporters after the Under-19 Asia Cup game between India and Pakistan at Dubai International Stadium on Saturday, Mohsin Naqvi said that they want to find a win-win solution in which cricket emerged as a winner. He said:
“A lot is happening at the moment, and I want to ensure that nothing I say jeopardizes the ongoing process. We’ve presented our perspective, and India has shared theirs. Everyone involved is working hard to find a win-win solution and, above all, to ensure that cricket emerges as the true winner. The most important aspect is to resolve matters in a way that allows everyone to move forward with their pride intact.”

Mohsin Naqvi was directly asked if the Pakistan Cricket Board has accepted the hybrid model to which he replied that they will adopt a formula, which will put all the parties on equal footing.
“We will take the steps that are best for the game of cricket. Whatever formula we decide on – not the hybrid one – it will ensure equal footing for every party involved,” he said.
Naqvi, however, said that Pakistan’s pride is very important to them and ensured that the final decision taken on the matter won’t hurt it. He said:
“There are many considerations at play, but at the end of the day, our focus remains on ensuring that cricket emerges as the true winner. What is paramount here is Pakistan’s pride. Inshaallah, we are committed to protecting Pakistan’s prestige while ensuring the game thrives.”

Mohsin Naqvi further sent a direct message to ICC, demanding an end to the one-sided approach where India don’t travel to Pakistan but Pakistan visit India in every ICC tournament. He elaborated:
“My effort has always been to put an end to the one-sided approach, where we travel to India, but they don’t reciprocate. Everything happening now is aimed at resolving this once and for all, to settle it for good. Whatever the outcome, it will ensure equality for all parties involved. That is my promise.”
Mohsin Naqvi further said that the decision taken this time around in the ICC meeting won’t be just about the Champions Trophy, and it will be a long-term one. He stated:
“I can assure you that the solution we arrive at will be a long-term one, not just for the Champions Trophy. It will address the challenges ahead and set a foundation for whatever comes in the years to follow.”
