The long wait of 14 months finally ended as Mohammed Shami made his return to international cricket in the ongoing third T20I against the England National Cricket Team. The match between the two teams is underway at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot.
After missing the two games, Mohammed Shami was back in the Indian XI as he replaced Arshdeep Singh in the team. The fast bowler bowled decent lines and lengths and troubled the England National Cricket Team batters with the new ball inside the powerplay.
Mohammed Shami failed to take a wicket on his wicket, but more than that, what was important was how he ran and bowled. The fast bowler ticked that box to some extent and it’s fair to say that the game time at the international stage surely would’ve boosted his confidence.
Mohammed Shami was looking to control the ball. But the fast bowler wasn’t up to that mark, and it was evident during the 19th over the first innings when the India National Cricket Team pacer almost took down England National Cricket Team pacer Mark Wood with a deadly ball.
Mohammed Shami bowled a high full toss that was above the batter’s waist and even keeper Sanju Samson fumbled to gather it behind the stumps. Mark Wood was lucky to escape as he saved himself.
