Pakistan batting consultant Mohammad Yousuf is all set to travel to New Zealand for the white-ball series. This comes after he earlier pulled away from the entire team due to his daughter’s illness and took permission from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to stay at home.
Pakistan National Cricket Team is all set to tour New Zealand for the five-match T20I and the three-match ODI series. The series will begin with the 20-over games, to be played from 16th March to 26th March. While ODIs are all set to take place from 29th March to 2nd April.

Ahead of the team’s departure, Pakistan faced a setback with Mohammad Yousuf not opting to travel. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released an official statement, saying that owing to his daughter’s poor health, the batting consultant will stay at home. But hours later, there was a change in plan.
Mohammad Yousuf made himself available to travel and boarded the flight with the team to New Zealand. The batting consultant of the Pakistan National Cricket Team mentioned that her daughter is better now and he decided to go on National duty. He said;
“Doctors told me that my daughter’s health is better now, so I’m going with the team,” said Yousuf. “Going with the team is a national duty that I have decided to fulfil.”

The Mohammad Rizwan-led side failed to win a single game in the tournament and faced a group-stage exit, losing to New Zealand and Bangladesh.
Following a loss in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Pakistan made a bold call. Apart from making a few changes in the coaching staff, they also made new additions to their squad for the New Zealand tour, with plenty of youngsters getting opportunities in the shortest format of the game.

In the ODIs, Mohammad Rizwan will be leading the team as senior players have retained their place in the side. Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf have been dropped while some fresh faces have been included in the 50-over team for the New Zealand series.
