Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi engage in a huge fight

Pakistan National Cricket Team skipper Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi were engaged in a massive argument during the ongoing game against the New Zealand National Cricket Team. The first match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is underway at the National Stadium in Karachi.

Pakistan National Cricket Team didn’t have a great outing with the ball as the New Zealand National Cricket Team batters were all over the bowlers. Shaheen Afridi, in particular, didn’t look good as he was taken for runs and failed to take a single wicket, as a result of which the Black Caps posted a huge total.

Shaheen Afridi didn’t look threatening at all with the ball

Shaheen Afridi didn’t look threatening at all as New Zealand batters played him with ease. The pacer, in particular, was taken for runs during the last few overs of the innings, which saw Mohammad Rizwan having a go at the pacer as well.

It was during the 47th over of the New Zealand innings when Shaheen Afridi beat Tom Latham on inside edge and the ball took the edge for a four. It was a great delivery as it squared up the New Zealand National Cricket Team batter, who attempted to flick the ball.

The boundary didn’t amaze skipper Mohammad Rizwan, as he was seen expressing his frustration at the pacer. He visibly blamed the pacer with some signals, which in turn wasn’t taken well by Shaheen Afridi, who also said some harsh words to the skipper.

The incident was even noticed by the commentators. Simon Doull, on air, favored the pacer and said: “I’m sorry, but you cannot be having a go at the bowler there. It was a genuinely good delivery.”

New Zealand post a massive total of 320 runs, Pakistan sturggle in the chase

Coming to the match, New Zealand National Cricket Team posted a massive total of 320 runs. Will Young (107) and Tom Latham (118*) slammed solid centuries, while Glenn Phillips (53) hit a brutal half-century that took the Kiwis to a total past 300 runs.

In the chase, Pakistan are looking torrid as they have been losing wickets at regular intervals. Skipper Mohammad Rizwan also didn’t have a great outing, as he managed just 3 runs. Babar Azam, who has slammed a half-century, has batted pretty slow, which has put pressure on the other batters, and in an attempt to score runs, they have lost wickets as well.

With the way things are going, New Zealand National Cricket Team look clear favourites to win the game. A win here will be a boost for them as they then would need to win just one more game to make their case strong for the semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
