Australia pacer Mitchell Starc was visibly frustrated after rain interrupted play during the third Test of the 2024/25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Rain hung around for the most part on Day 3 of the Brisbane clash. During the 15th over of India’s first innings, with the score at a tentative 51-4 and Australia dominating the proceedings, the ground staff had to bring out the covering sheets again. This time, Starc seemed to have enough of the frequent interruptions.

The Aussie pacer was seen bending down in despair. 7Cricket shared a clip of Starc’s exasperation on X (formerly Twitter). “Rain delays play for the 863rd time today, and Starc has had enough,” read the post.

Fans have now poured their reactions on the incident in the post’s comments section. One of them claimed that the Aussie pacer resembled every single fan watching the series. ‘Starc is all of us lol,’ wrote the user.

Another suggested that the Aussie was looking to get Yashasvi Jaiswal once again. “Starc wants to finish this quick to get Jaiswal back with the bat again,” the user added.

One netizen claimed that the interruptions were more of a problem for the batters than the bowlers. “Tougher for batsmen. Bowlers are getting a breather every 2nd over and ready to go once play resumes,” the user commented.

Another wrote, “Australia shouldn’t have batted for so long. They could have had India all out before the rain if they had declared earlier.”

“He’s sad, he didn’t get to dismantle the Indian batting lineup today,” wrote one more.

India cleaned up Australia’s last three wickets in the first session to keep them to 445 runs. Four quick wickets in between rain delays meant India went to Stumps at 51/4. KL Rahul led India’s hopes with 33 runs while Rohit Sharma was yet to open his account in the game. Gautam Gambhir’s men needed at least 246 runs to avoid a follow-on.
