NEW DELHI: Cognizant Major League Cricket (MLC) has received official List-A status from the International Cricket Council (ICC) just in time for its highly anticipated second season, which kicks off on July 5, 2024.
This recognition marks a significant milestone in the league’s growth and solidifies its position as America’s premier domestic T20 tournament.
The granting of List-A status means that every performance in the league, from centuries and half-centuries to ‘five-for’ bowling feats, run-outs, wins, losses, and championships, will be documented as official career statistics in an internationally recognized format.
This recognition provides a platform for local US players and emerging stars to gain international acclaim, thereby boosting the development of domestic cricket talent through the MLC.

MLC CEO Vijay Srinivasan has ambitious plans for the league’s future, aiming to expand from a 19-game season in 2023 to a 34-game season by 2025.
“We saw cricket mania sweep across the US last year off the back of our inaugural season of Major League Cricket.
