Lucknow Super Giants bounced back from their horrible defeat against Gujarat Titans by smashing the second-highest total in the history of the Indian Premier League on Friday (April 28).
The KL Rahul-led side had entered the game against Punjab Kings after suffering a 7-run defeat while chasing a modest 135 at their home ground against Gujarat Titans. They needed a solid show with the bat to boost their morale and their batsmen rose to the occasion.

While captain KL Rahul failed to get going as he managed only 12, the other LSG batsmen rose to the occasion. Kyle Mayers and Marcus Stoinis scored whirlwind fifties to lead the charge with the bat, helping the Lucknow-based outfit post a massive total of 257 for 5 in the allotted 20 overs.
Mayers smashed 54 from just 24 balls with the help of 7 fours and 4 sixes while Stoinis hit 72 off just 40 balls with the help of 6 fours and 5 sixes. Apart from Stoinis and Mayers, Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni played crucial knocks too, scoring 45 and 43 runs respectively.
