Team India’s struggles at Gabba continued as the Australian bowlers tightened their grip further in the game. The Indian batters have continued to lose their wickets and are struggling to save the match.
Amidst all these struggles, some of the Indian players were found laughing inside the dressing room. KL Rahul and R Ashwin were found to be laughing with their hearts out in the dressing room at the comments of their head coach Gautam Gambhir.
Alongside Gambhir, Rahul, and Ashwin, Akash Deep and Harshit Rana were also seen sitting beside them and sharing a laugh. While all these players were laughing, Gautam Gambhir continued to speak.

This happened after KL Rahul had been dismissed in the first innings. Rahul batted brilliantly as has been India’s best batter by far in this Test match. While opening the innings, he was assured of his defense and attack,
Rahul looked comfortable at the crease and adapted to the pitch smoothly as well. He left the balls well and wasn’t troubled with the extra bounce on the surface. However, he was also lucky at times since he was dropped on the first ball of Day 4 when he was batting on 33.
KL Rahul scored 84 off 139 balls and struck 8 fours during his knock. His solidity allowed India to reach a respectable position in a rather disappointing batting performance. Rahul was unlucky not to have completed his hundred.
While KL Rahul is playing the Gabba Test, R Ashwin didn’t find a place in the team after a disappointing outing in Adelaide. Ashwin was replaced by Ravindra Jadeja in this match, who also didn’t have a great time with the ball.
KL Rahul – India’s best batter
Not only this match, KL Rahul has been India’s best batter of the series as well. He was promoted to open the batting in the absence of Rohit Sharma in the first Test and his impressive performances at the top ensured Rohit to bat in the middle order.
KL Rahul has scored 231 runs in five innings so far at an average of 46.20. He is the second-highest run-getter of the series after Travis Head.
Meanwhile, India is currently struggling in this Test match and are in danger of not crossing the follow-on target. Australia scored 445 in their first innings, thanks to brilliant hundreds from Travis Head and Steve Smith.
Indian batters struggle again
Jasprit Bumrah was the lone shining light for India with 6-76. In reply, Australian bowlers were on fire right from the start. India’s batting order crumbled as they lost both Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill cheaply.
The poor form of middle order continued as Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant went without troubling the scorers much. Rohit Sharma was dismissed on Day 4 and was the first batter to be dismissed on the day.
