India’s middle order batter KL Rahul was dismissed for a duck in the first Test against New Zealand at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Rahul came in to bat at No. 6 but could not last long as he was dismissed off just the sixth ball.
Fast bowler William O’Rourke bowled a ball moving outside leg stump which Rahul tried to flick it away through fine leg. But the batter was unlucky as he found a faint tickle through to the wicketkeeper Tom Blundell, who took the catch cleanly.
Rahul’s dismissal led to a flurry of tweets on X. While some users called it a soft dismissal, some of them were highly critical of his flops show.
