KL Rahul, who is finally seeing greener pastures with respect to his Indian cricket career as well, has been in fine form since his return from injury.
The wicketkeeper-batter, who has been named as the stand-in captain for the Indian side in the absence of Rohit Sharma for the first two ODIs against Australia, had to deal with blistering heat and even more fiery expectations after making a recent comeback from his injury in the series opener on Friday.
But for Rahul, it was an opportunity to relish as the skipper stepped up to comfortably lead the Men in Blue to a cruising win over the Aussies with 5 wickets to spare in the first ODI.
“Not the first time, always happens with me. I’m used to it, I love it,” Rahul said about leading the side in place of regular skipper Rohit Sharma.
India are currently taking on the Aussies in the second ODI, and are currently batting first, putting on a trailblazing target with batter Shreyas Iyer putting on a show with a swashbuckling century and opener Shubman Gill enroute to another blistering century himself.
