NEW DELHI: England’s white-ball captain Jos Buttler on Friday announced his resignation following the team’s disappointing Champions Trophy performance, where they failed to advance to the semi-finals.
“I’m going to stand down as England captain, it’s the right decision for me and the team,” the 34-year-old said at a press conference.
In Buttler’s leadership, England were unable to defend their titles in both T20 and 50-over World Cup competitions.
